The Section 10 Boys Golf Team finished in 10th place of 11th teams in the State Championship held at the Mark Twain Golf Club in Elmira, New York. The top 5 golfers from Section 10 all finished within 2 strokes of each other in the 2 day 36 hole tournament. Ian VanWagner of Potsdam led the Section 10 team with a 2 day score of 12 over par, shooting a 75 in round 1 and an 81 in round 2. Ian tied for 50th place overall in a field of 99 boys. Ethan Bouchard of OFA and Colin Patterson of Massena each finished with a 157 2 day total (13 over par) each shooting a 79 in round 1 and 78 in round 2. Carter Johnson of Salmon River posted a 2 day 14 over par with a 78 in round 1 and an 80 in round 2. Ryan Jones of Canton also finished 14 over par posting a 79 both days. Congratulations to all the boys of Section 10 participating in the NYS Championships.

Ian VanWagner leads Section 10 at the NYS Boys Golf Championship in Elmira New York at Mark Twain Golf Club. Ian posted an 18 hole score of 75 (3 over par) including 2 birdies. Carter Johnson finished round 1 with a score of 78 posting 2 eagles. Ryan Jones, Colin Patterson and Ethan Bouchard each posted a 7 over, 79. Round 2 will be on Monday morning.

In the second round of the Section 10 golf qualifier weekend, Ryan Jones of Canton had the low score of the 2 day tournament. Ryan shot a 79 on Friday and a 73 on Saturday for a 152 two day total. Colin Patterson of Massena came in second place with a two day total of 155 posting an 82 in the first round and a 73 in the second round. Ashton Clark of Tupper Lake posted a 158, (80-78), Ian VanWagner of Potsdam had a 159 (80-79), Kahontiio Lazore of Salmon River had a 76 on Friday and an 84 on Saturday for 5th place and a two day total of 160. Ethan Bouchard of OFA also posted a 160 (79-81). Matthew Daniels of C-F, Raine Rumble of Gouverneur and Carter Johnson of Salmon River were the other state qualifiers who will represent Section 10 in the State tournament.

The Tupper Lake Lumberjacks take full advantage of their home course knowledge winning the Section 10 team competition on Friday. Tupper Lake edged Salmon River by 1 stoke. Massena captured 3rd place, Potsdam 4th and rounding out the top 5 was Malone. Ashton Clark led Tupper Lake with an 18 hole score of 80 including 5 birdies on the day. Aiden Churcopost an 86 for Tupper Lake with 2 birdies on the card. Kahontiio Lazore of Salmon River posted the low score of the day with a 76 including 4 birdies. Ethan Bouchard of OFA , Matthew Daniels of Clifton-Fine and Ryan Jones each posted a 79. Ethan and Ryan had with 2 birdies and Matthew had 3 birdies on the day. Ian VanWagner of Potsdam posted an 80 to round out the top 5 scorers in the first round.
